The farm landscape inspires many ideas for the home.

Easy Red, White, and Blue for the Fourth

Just gather some blueberries and strawberries. Place them in the water.

For this arrangement, I used white hydrangeas, white lantana, and a few smaller sunflowers from the garden.

It makes a pretty show for some subtle red, white and blue on the table.

Sunflower Vintage Water Cooler Arrangement

The dove field sunflowers are coming in beautifully. I wanted to created a very expansive arrangement to show the height and just beauty of the sunflowers.

I gathered a vintage igloo water jug and then ventured out to the sunflower fields to get sunflowers. I cut about six of them close to the base because I wanted a lot of height. Then, I cut more at various sizes. I also cut white lantana and white hydrangeas from the farm. Then I just played around with the arrangement. The good thing about a sunflower arrangement this time of year is that it is stunning and free if you plant sunflowers. I put pictures up of a tall and even taller arrangement. These are easy you don’t even need floral wire. Take the leaves off the very bottom and keep leaves on the top, it just helps keep them full.

Tropical Flower Arrangement

The summer is a great time to add some vibrant arrangements on your porch or in the house.

At the farm, I like to gather some fresh greenery from around the house. The pond banks actually have pretty wild growing reeds and flowers to add in with any arrangement.

For this tropical arrangement:

  1. Just grab a flower vase the width of a pineapple. Place one pineapple inside and prop another one on top.

  2. Take your filler flowers and place them around the edges. These finger leaf bushes were around the house. The lavender flowers were growing along the pond banks.

  3. Grab some fuller flowers that are a bright color. I grabbed these roses at the local grocery store. I placed the brighter colors along the edge of the pineapple.

  4. Pour some water in and place it anywhere you’d like to add color.

Ice Mold Ice Bucket

  • Freeze It.

Gather your favorite flowers and fruits. You can use a bucket with a smaller bucket glued to the bottom (sherbet buckets work great with a smaller bucket that will hold a wine bottle). Place your flowers and lemons in around the edge with water. Let it freeze over night. Let hot water run over the bucket and turn it over to release it. (You can also buy the mold online)

  • Build it.

Once the ice is out you can place it on a plate or silver platter. This will capture the water as it melts.

  • Ice Bucket

This beautiful ice bucket slowly melts revealing the petals and wedges. It makes a really pretty addition to any table.

This bunny cotton wreath was created by putting two handmade cotton wreaths together. I made the cotton wreaths, and then used heavy gauge floral wire to hold them together along the middle. The bow is tied around it. I used floral wire to make the ears by forming a loop and then gluing the cotton on. They are attached at the back with floral wire.

These baskets were simple to make for Easter. They are rectangular flat baskets, I ordered two inch aqua ribbon and just tied a bow around them. I placed empty Gatorade bottles inside the baskets. The flowers are snowballs picked from the farm and mixed with store bought flowers. I just sat them loosely in the baskets with their stems in water and arranged them.

These are the cotton wreaths that I make and will soon offer in the store. They are made from cotton produced on the farm.

These are the larger grape vine wreaths decorated on the shop building.

I gathered this cotton to put into baskets for decorating.

I love decorating with natural products. This is an oil painting of the house originally on our dining room mantel.
